Job Summary: We are seeking a Safety Leader to ensure compliance with and effectiveness of applicable legislation regarding safety, health, and environment, safeguarding workers’ physical integrity and the company’s assets. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead the company’s safety, health, and environment (SH&E) management. 2. Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations in SH&E. 3. We require a qualified professional to ensure compliance with and effectiveness of applicable legislation, thereby safeguarding workers’ physical integrity and the company’s assets. To this end, we seek: **Safety Leader** **Requirements:** · Engineering degree in Environmental, Industrial, or related field. · Minimum 3 years of experience in occupational safety, environmental management, and civil protection. · Knowledge of relevant legislation issued by STPS, SEDESU, Profepa, Semarnat, IMSS, and Civil Protection authorities. · Intermediate English proficiency (desirable). **Main Responsibilities:** Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations on safety, health, and environment, as well as internal plans, programs, and policies from STPS, NFPA, OSHA, Civil Protection, Semarnat, IMSS, and the Federal Labor Law (LFT). Develop and monitor the Comprehensive Occupational Safety and Health Diagnosis and the Annual Safety Plan. Ensure implementation and renewal of safety and hygiene studies, expert opinions, and analyses. Coordinate and train emergency brigades and CMSH (Committee on Safety and Health at Work). Monitor the ELSSA program (IMSS). Manage permits and licenses before government agencies. Coordinate and implement training programs for internal staff and onboarding for new hires. Conduct risk assessments, accident investigations, and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions. Manage environmental aspects and impacts, KPIs, waste generation, discharges, emissions, and efficient resource use. Manage safety-related KPIs. Manage hazardous waste, including preparation of manifests and chemical substance records. Manage and supervise permits for high-risk work activities (e.g., working at heights, welding and cutting operations, non-routine tasks) for both internal personnel and contractors. Ensure implementation and compliance with the LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) system. Respond to external audits and inspections on safety and environmental matters conducted by Profepa, STPS, Civil Protection, and IMSS. Manage internal audits. Define and implement programs and strategies to promote a safety culture across the plant. Participate in developing corporate-level safety and hygiene programs and policies. Administer and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct workplace walkthroughs to identify unsafe acts and conditions and ensure their correction. Inspect fire protection equipment and emergency systems to ensure proper functionality.
