




**Area:** Production (Reproduction, Rearing and Finished Product) **Reports to:** Operations Director **Position Objective** Supervise, coordinate and optimize insect production activities (*Hermetia illucens*) in the reproduction, rearing and finished product areas of the Bioconversion Plant, ensuring compliance with volume targets, product quality, and optimal biological development conditions for the organism; as well as operational efficiency of personnel and processes. **Main Responsibilities** **Reproduction:** * Supervise and participate in egg collection and handling. * Control humidity and temperature conditions in assigned areas. * Monitor oviposition, hatching, and neonatal mortality rates. * Supervise and participate in pupae and adult insect management. **Rearing:** * Coordinate feeding, mechanical aeration, and maintenance of feeding beds. * Monitor environmental parameters (temperature, humidity). * Verify larval weight gain and development to determine harvest timing. * Ensure adherence to biosecurity and cleaning protocols. **Finished Product:** * Supervise harvesting, euthanasia, washing, and dehydration of larvae. * Coordinate and participate in substrate bed sieving and packaging. * Maintain production, yield, and loss records. * Coordinate product dispatch with the COO. **Personnel Management:** * Assign daily tasks and supervise operational team performance. * Train staff on procedures and safety protocols. * Promote a safe, respectful, and productive work environment. **Control and Continuous Improvement:** * Record production data and propose process adjustments. * Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, yield, or cost-effectiveness. * Report incidents and weekly results to the Operations Director. **Requirements** **Education:** Technical degree or bachelor's in Biology, Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, or related fields. **Experience:** Minimum 6 months in supervision or management of biological or agro-industrial processes. Experience in organic bioconversion is desirable. **Knowledge:** * Insect life cycle. * Management of environmental parameters (temperature, humidity). * Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and biosecurity. * Quality control and production recordkeeping. **Skills:** * Leadership, organization, and effective communication. * Analytical ability, decision-making, and fieldwork capability. * Responsibility and results-oriented mindset.
