**Location:** *Siltepec, Chiapas.* **Type of Employment:** *Full-time* **Contract Duration:** *Temporary – (until December 15, 2026)* #### **Position Mission** The objective of this position is to provide obstetric and perinatal care within the maternal area of the Siltepec Health Center to ensure the highest possible quality. This role ensures the implementation of the respectful childbirth model in the maternal area of the Siltepec Health Center. This model is based on respectful care, evidence-based practices, and alignment with women's expectations and needs so they can have a positive and empowering birth experience. This position must also contribute to maintaining positive collaboration with the Ministry of Health and CES, as well as with traditional midwives in the region, to strengthen obstetric care through an intercultural approach, recognizing their contributions and knowledge. #### **Responsibilities** ***Obstetric and perinatal care in the maternal area of the Siltepec Health Center.*** 100% of working time Clinical activities: * Provide direct obstetric and perinatal care whenever necessary. * Support appropriate response and timely management of obstetric and neonatal complications. * Promote and ensure evidence-based practices and use of available clinical algorithms. * Promote and ensure respectful collaboration with traditional midwives: maintain close communication, ensure openness for midwives to perform interventions within the Health Center. Encourage midwife accompaniment when desired by the patient. * Accompany and train health center staff in Siltepec on: low-risk labor and postpartum care, essential newborn care, consultations, and completion of the obstetric triage form. * Participate in developing educational sessions for CS staff and pregnant women. * Conduct on-site simulations to strengthen clinical skills across the team. * Provide general support for emergencies treated at the health center. Administrative activities: * Support and participate in the accurate recording of clinical records and indicators for the respectful childbirth model in both the health center and CES records. * Assist in conducting monthly supplies inventory and placing monthly orders: organizing supplies on shelves and restocking various services. * Promote appropriate use of supplies. * Ensure the birthing area is clean, organized, and in good condition, and keep L\-P\-R rooms equipped. * Foster optimal linkage and constant communication with clinical and administrative staff at the Siltepec Health Center. * Actively participate to enhance communication with staff at primary care clinics supported by CES to ensure continuity of obstetric care. * Actively participate to enhance communication with clinical staff at major homes and health centers that refer patients for childbirth care to the Siltepec Health Center. * Maintain close communication with program coordination to jointly resolve difficulties, conflicts, or identify improvement opportunities. * Participate in other activities as needed by the health center.
