Coordinates trade compliance training programs and communications as necessary.**Job Description:** * Analyze audit results of import and export data and identify process improvements. * Ensure compliance with Customs licenses, special authorizations or permits according to the regulatory requirements. * Monitor legal reporting requirements and ensure timely submissions. * Review current trade compliance procedures and revise as necessary as well as create new procedures when needed. * Publish KPI’s and trade related reporting. * Assist in managing Customs brokers and service providers. * Identify cost savings initiatives. * Create and provide trade compliance training for AAM associates. * Leverage internal and external systems to help validate customs compliance information. * All other duties as assigned. **Required Skills and Education** Position profile for the Senior Customs Analyst role. Reports to: Customs Manager Department: Trade Compliance and Customs Employment Type: Permanent Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 7AM to 5PM **Key Responsibilities:** Knowledge of inventory control and material structure application (Annex 24\). Maintain effective and efficient management of the Annex 24 system to ensure completeness, accuracy, and validity of information recorded through the import and export operations managed. Knowledge of administration of maritime import and export operations at seaports in Mexico and the USA. Knowledge of controls required for proper management of maritime import status to ensure operations are completed within time limits established to avoid demurrage and/or storage charges. Preparation of import and export invoices in the Annex 24 system for imports, exports of all types of materials including fixed assets. Review and authorization of payment of customs entries within required timeframes depending on the import or export operation (consolidated and/or per operation). Ensure application and use of identifiers at both line-item and header levels on authorized customs entries. Analysis and application of PROSEC, USMCA and/or Rule Eight provisions during customs entry authorization review, and ensure correct application on the customs entry. Handling of virtual customs entries and operations, regime changes, and regularization processes. Ensure compliance with required closure dates for each virtual operation, and avoid incurring penalties due to untimely closures. Coordinate generation of various information and periodic/special reports requested regarding foreign trade matters, certifications, and other departmental data. Prepare managerial reports and presentations of activities for periodic performance management meetings of the department. Maintain direct communication with Mexican and U.S. customs agencies for customs-related procedures; coordinate cargo inspector operations at warehouses, ports, and/or airports. Ensure compliance with security programs and/or certifications such as C\-TPAT /OEA in foreign trade operations. Interact with transportation companies (scheduling and confirming) to ensure efficient flow of goods. Verification of special requirements (hazardous materials, NOMs, SENER permits, etc.). Knowledge of Oracle E\-BS. Other duties inherent to the Customs Department. Maintain updated and comprehensive physical and electronic customs files, and ensure proper document flow from involved parties. Monitoring of import and export operations, and ensure timely reporting of any incidents or risk situations to immediate supervisor. Perform work in accordance with authorized and updated methods, instructions, and specifications applicable to the Customs Department. Follow guidelines outlined in the Internal Work Regulations concerning safety, treatment of fellow workers, equipment, materials, facilities, and other company-owned resources. **POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:** Completed university degree in International Trade, International Business or related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Experience in Customs Operations (imports and exports), Annex 24 (ZOE preferred). Minimum 5 years’ experience in Imports/Exports. Experience in maquiladora operations. English proficiency minimum 80% (spoken, written, comprehension). Experience solving complex problems requiring acquisition of new knowledge and innovation. Knowledge of Oracle.
