Summary The Manufacturing Manager ensures that process operations and manufacturing functions are effective and efficient through continuous monitoring of departmental policies, procedures, personnel, and standards, and is responsible for organizing and managing the workforce to ensure plant operations achieve safety, quality, and efficiency objectives. Provides leadership in directing all activities in alignment with the Annual 3/6/9/12 Plan, corporate strategies, goals, and policies. Job Responsibilities * Supervises the responsibilities of Manufacturing Superintendents and Supervisors, while actively promoting their professional growth and development. Identifies and tracks training needs. Meets regularly with staff to foster teamwork and collective effort. * Manages and justifies overtime requirements for Manufacturing personnel in the most effective and efficient manner. * Ensures production requirements are met. Analyzes production reports, maintains optimal finished goods and WIP inventories, and ensures timely submission of daily production, efficiency, and material scrap reports. * Actively promotes and participates in continuous improvement teams and implements identified actions along with their corresponding cost savings. * Consistently complies with Mexican Occupational Safety and Health Standards, as well as company safety rules and regulations. * Supervises and improves process control efficiency by ensuring all manufacturing functions operate correctly and efficiently. * Provides feedback to Superintendents, Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Employees regarding expectations, quality issues, and production activities. * Supervises equipment and process efficiency to meet all customer requirements. * Ensures compliance with procedures for all contractual requirements. * Manages employees to ensure adherence to quality, quantity, customer scheduling, and specifications. * Ensures the company provides a work environment where 6S standards—order, cleanliness, and safety—are consistently maintained in all areas under their responsibility. * Analyzes and reports to the Plant Manager or General Manager on the effectiveness of plant manufacturing operations and forecasts optimal labor resources for efficient operations. * Collaborates with Human Resources and adheres to the Collective Bargaining Agreement to administer discipline and participates in Union-Management meetings addressing grievance resolution and other issues. * Works with the Plant Manager or General Manager to analyze and resolve operational issues and attends cross-departmental operational meetings. * Coordinates production activities with other departmental activities across the Company. * Is responsible for knowledge, understanding, specific responsibilities, and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as defined in the EMS policy. * Develops and tracks activities related to the Manufacturing Department’s Annual 3/6/9/12 Plan. * Develops plans and executes actions to generate KBM results to meet or exceed objectives. * Ensures all RPM incidents are accurately and timely captured. * Leads reviews of information posted in the chart room and ensures timely closure of actions to close efficiency gaps. * Participates in Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and follows up on open manufacturing-related tasks. * Attends all Health & Safety (H&S) meetings and ensures timely follow-up on open safety-related actions for manufacturing. * Actively participates in APQP meetings for new projects and collaborates to estimate required labor and properly track manufacturing-related actions identified. * Supports interviews for new hires of both unionized and non-unionized production personnel. * Participates in shift-startup meetings and Fast Response meetings. * Participates in scheduled management meetings. * Maintains strong presence and active involvement on the manufacturing floor to ensure timely follow-up on corrective, preventive, and continuous improvement actions. * Supports the Plant Manager and/or General Manager in various activities.
