Support for process and procedure implementation Involves handling packages within an operation including manual handling, sort activities, screening and completing any related administration or paperwork. Position in family will impact accountabilities such that Associate levels may complete some tasks under guidance and may have responsibility for less complex tasks. Lead or senior levels of these positions may: * Handle escalated or more complex issues, * Coordinate team activities or those of agency contract staff, * Support supervisor or manager activities, * Support the design, review and implementation of processes and procedures. Job Summary: Under general supervision, performs the following activities: * Safely loads and unloads aircraft and company vehicles. * Conducts size and weight inspections of packages and boxes; sorts packages. * Ensures use of safety equipment and full compliance with FedEx safety policies, procedures, standards, rules, and practices. * Receives and sorts air and ground shipments. * Ensures FedEx and customer property security. * Cleans, washes, and performs minor maintenance on company vehicles. * Operates company vehicles safely and securely. * Performs limited package pickup and delivery, as needed and in emergency situations. Minimum Requirements: Minimum Education Level: * Completed high school education. * Valid state driver’s license and good driving record. * Basic English preferred. Minimum Experience: * Experience operating ramp equipment and warehouse handling preferred. Minimum Required Skills: * Ability to lift 34 kg and maneuver any individual package weighing up to 68 kg using appropriate equipment. * Availability to work variable shifts. * General vehicle maintenance experience and familiarity with hand and power tools preferred. * Must successfully complete the Reading, Map Reading, Sorting, and Mathematics sections of the Basic Skills Test. * Accuracy and attention to detail. * Planning and organizational skills. * Problem-solving skills. * Teamwork. * Punctuality.
