Collaboration with technical teams for standard adoption and continuous improvement **API Design Architect** **Job Description** We are seeking a Senior API Architect responsible for designing, standardizing, and governing the API ecosystem within a Federated Government and APIfication initiative. This role will be critical to ensuring technical consistency, compliance with institutional guidelines, and alignment with corporate models such as BIAN. They will be responsible for defining rules, standards, and structures enabling an automatable governance model, integrating AI-assisted technical analysis capabilities to strengthen validation, consistency, and scalability of the API ecosystem. **Key Responsibilities** * Design specifications for new and existing APIs according to OpenAPI and RAML standards * Define and evolve API design, governance, and versioning standards * Normalize API contracts to ensure structural and semantic consistency * Validate API and microservice compliance with defined standards * Define automatable technical governance rules using validators and AI agents * Design internal APIs supporting Federated Government capabilities * Analyze existing APIs and identify deviations and improvement opportunities * Define reusable archetypes and patterns for API design * Collaborate with technical teams to ensure standard adoption * Participate in agile ceremonies and technical definition * Document guidelines, rules, and validation criteria * Support technical review and certification processes * Promote contract\-first, decoupling, and reuse practices * Define technical inputs for automation of API validations and analysis * Contribute to defining rules for AI-assisted validation and analysis engines **Essential Technical Knowledge** * Architectural-level REST API design * OpenAPI / Swagger * RAML * API governance and standardization * API versioning and change control * Git (GitHub, Bitbucket) * Definition of API archetypes and patterns * Spring Boot * Jira or other management tools * API Management platforms: MuleSoft and/or Apigee * BIAN standard (mandatory) * Microservices architecture * Decoupled and service-oriented design principles * System integration in enterprise environments * Automated API validation models * General knowledge of AI applied to technical analysis * Familiarity with generative AI (LLMs) applied to technical documentation or validation * Experience collaborating in initiatives where AI supports technical or governance processes (desirable) **Required Experience** * Solid experience as an API Architect, API Designer, or in API governance roles * Experience in the banking or financial sector (mandatory) * Participation in governance, standardization, or APIfication initiatives * Experience defining institutional technical standards and guidelines * Experience designing APIs in enterprise environments * Interaction with architecture, development, and integration teams * Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum or SAFe) * Experience deploying solutions incorporating AI components **Key Competencies** * Architectural thinking oriented toward standardization * Ability to define clear and scalable rules * High level of technical precision and attention to detail * Analytical capability to evaluate technical artifacts * Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams * Technical influence without direct authority * Focus on quality, consistency, and scalability * Structured documentation capability * Continuous improvement orientation **Profile Differentiators** * Experience with Federated API Governance models * Application of the BIAN standard in banking environments * Experience defining rules for automated API contract validation * Knowledge of API Management tools (Apigee or MuleSoft) * Ability to define reusable API design frameworks **Desirable** * Experience with automated API contract validators * Knowledge of API linting or validation tools * Experience in technical certification or architectural compliance * Knowledge of CI/CD applied to APIs * Experience in automation of technical governance **Education** * Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field * Specialization in software architecture or integration (desirable) **Work Modality** * Work in an agile environment * Collaboration with architecture, development, and governance teams * Participation in the strategic Federated Government and APIfication initiative Employment Type: Full\-time Salary: $55,000\.00 per month Work Location: Hybrid remote in Ciudad de México, CDMX
