**Job Summary and Scope:** The Transportation Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate transportation operations within an organization or the activities of organizations providing transportation services. Assist with stakeholder engagement by organizing actions, meetings, events, and supporting materials to promote stakeholder understanding and commitment. Collect and analyze key cost factors, dynamic market issues, innovation areas, and alternative suppliers for a medium-risk area with some alternatives to provide solid market intelligence for decision-making. Communicate local and corporate action objectives and strategy and motivate team members to achieve local business goals. Lead and manage complex warehouses, reviewing current procedures and developing new procedures when necessary to ensure all goods and supplies are properly stored and recorded. Manage and recommend improvements to the inventory control program to identify any issues and resolve them. Manage the transportation of goods and supplies for a large business segment using existing procedures; review and recommend improvements to procedures to ensure on-time delivery of goods and supplies. Perform additional tasks as required. Provide training and professional development opportunities to team members to further develop their skills. **Job Responsibilities**: * Plans and coordinates work activities of the shipping team. * Develops and implements specific objectives and performance measures to improve performance. * Interprets, understands, and acts upon individual and collective performance and quality data. * Leads the selection and hiring of new drivers; evaluates employee performance; develops and implements action plans to improve all employees. * Ensures compliance with company and government policies and regulations (e.g., safety, OSHA, hazardous materials, State and Federal Motor Carrier Laws, State and Federal Inspections). * Conduct regular safety meetings; completes and reviews safety incident reports as needed; recommends changes to help maintain a safe work environment. * Ensures all delivery employees receive appropriate training and skill development. * Supervise driver hours of service compliance according to established laws and policies. * Communicate with customer service regarding delivery issues. * Manage driver equipment and uniforms. * Provide CX with updated customer information: e.g., time windows, address changes. * Monitor the SAMSARA system during shift. * Daily communication with CX team on same day and next day delivery scheduling. * Communicate with Distribution Managers regarding issues with trucks, boxes, and drivers. * Provide shift start schedules for drivers. * Supervise driver return procedures. * Analyze digital POD capture compliance report data to recommend, offer, and implement performance improvements. * Control and analyze truck utilization to implement improvements in transportation % and finances (Annual profit per truck). * Meet perfect order objectives. * Utilize all available business tools to deliver continuous improvement. * Stay well-informed of safe work practices and perform all tasks safely. Support the company safety committee. **Qualifications / Knowledge and Experience**: * In-depth knowledge of warehousing, delivery, and traffic operations within a distribution environment, as well as government regulations (e.g., State and Federal Motor Carrier Laws, OSHA, HazMat, etc.), preferably from a large, national, or decentralized organization. * 3+ years of successful supervisory/management experience required. Ability to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as scale new talent. * Proficient in PC and Windows-based software programs. Familiarity with mid-range operating systems is beneficial. * Excellent leadership, customer relations, and interpersonal skills required. * Ability to motivate teams, manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. * Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills required. * Strong planning and organizational skills required. * Intermediate to Advanced English preferred. **Work Experience**: * 3+ years of successful supervisory/management experience required.
