Ensures that all material requirements for assigned programs are satisfied within the allocated time frame.Coordinates flow of materials within the manufacturing facility. Coordinates transfer of materials to and from inventory or warehouse.Schedules and controls the release of materials. Monitors material inventory in the plant, in the warehouse, and by critical suppliers.Generates forecasts and manages the replenishment planning for parts and materials; ensures specified service levels are realized.**Job Description:** Job Summary The Sr. Materials Planner/Scheduler at El Carmen Manufacturing Facility is responsible for optimizing material flow, ensuring timely availability of components for production, and maintaining accurate inventory levels to meet demand and production schedules. Job Responsibilities * Develop and implement comprehensive production schedules and material plans based on demand forecasts, sales orders, and inventory targets. * Monitor and manage inventory levels for raw materials, components, and finished goods to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory. * Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure efficient material movement and resolve supply chain issues. * Utilize ERP/MRP systems to plan and execute material requirements, generate purchase requisitions, and track order status. * Analyze material usage, production capacity, and supplier performance to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. * Prepare and present reports on material planning metrics, inventory turns, and potential supply risks. * Lead efforts to optimize planning processes, reduce lead times, and improve forecast accuracy. * Participate in new product introduction (NPI) meetings to ensure material readiness and seamless transitions. * Negotiate with suppliers on delivery schedules and resolve discrepancies. * Mentor and train junior planners/schedulers as needed. **Required Skills and Education** Job Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. * 5\+ years of experience in materials planning, production scheduling, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. * Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.). * Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced formulas) are essential. * Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data\-driven decisions. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. * Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and inventory management best practices. * APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) preferred. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast\-paced environment. **About AAM:** As a leading global Tier 1 Automotive and Mobility Supplier, AAM designs, engineers and manufactures Driveline and Metal Forming technologies to support electric, hybrid and internal combustion vehicles.
