POSITION OBJECTIVE Carry out transportation tasks for authorized cargo and passengers using an MSF vehicle, ensuring it remains in sound technical and safety condition and complies with national traffic regulations and MSF safety protocols, thereby delivering safe, effective, and seamless service. The project will operate in Iguala, Acapulco, and Chilpancingo, requiring mobility among these locations. RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS * Conduct daily technical inspections of the assigned vehicle (tire condition, oil level, fuel, brakes, radio equipment, spare parts, etc.), perform weekly checks according to MSF’s onboard logbook, complete it as needed, and keep it clean to ensure optimal driving conditions. * Ensure passenger safety through prudent driving, adherence to speed limits and national traffic regulations, as well as MSF safety protocols, to prevent traffic accidents. * Ensure proper loading and unloading of the vehicle, especially: * Present required documents to the cargo recipient. * Verify the condition of delivered goods. * Return duly completed documentation to logistics. * Confirm that cargo carries all necessary documentation. * Ensure the vehicle remains in good condition at all times per instructions and guidelines in the onboard logbook, and formally hand over the vehicle if another person uses it. * Ensure vehicle documentation and the driver’s valid license are present in the vehicle. * Confirm all passengers possess all required documents prior to travel and that non-MSF personnel sign liability waivers before using the vehicle. * Report any incidents affecting cargo or passenger transport to the immediate supervisor. * Operate all types of radios proficiently, memorize radio codes, call signs, and phonetic alphabets, and communicate with base per MSF’s communications policy to report driver location and any potential consequences. * Know and comply with vehicle movement safety rules, specifically those related to customs, checkpoints, and road controls. Ensure all passengers understand and follow safety rules. PROFILE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Education and Training * Ability to read and write. * Valid driver’s license. Experience * Mandatory: Minimum two years’ experience as a driver. * Preferred: Experience driving 4x4 vehicles and/or prior experience with MSF or other NGOs. Languages * Spanish: mandatory. Knowledge * Familiarity with rural roads and highways in the Chilpancingo, Acapulco, and Iguala areas. * Preferred: Basic mechanical knowledge. POSITION CONDITIONS Salary: $16,100 pesos gross per month.
