Job Summary:
This role ensures label quality through inspection, testing, and compliance verification to minimize defects and meet client standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure label quality by minimizing defects and losses.
2. Conduct visual, dimensional, and laboratory testing of labels.
3. Participate in root cause investigations and CAPA follow-up.
Objective: Verify that labels (printing, cutting, rewinding, and finishing) comply with technical specifications, customer standards, and regulatory requirements, minimizing defects and losses.
Responsibilities:
* Perform visual and dimensional inspections of labels during production and on finished products (batch recordkeeping).
* Conduct batch sampling and execute tests: dimensional measurements, tolerances, adhesion, color fastness, gloss/brightness, registration and alignment, wrinkles, streaks, and rewinding defects.
* Use and perform basic maintenance of instruments: calipers, micrometers, rulers, spectrophotometers/colorimeters (if applicable), and tack testers.
* Verify compliance with customer specifications (Pantone colors, codes, materials, finishes).
* Segregate and label non-conforming items; generate reports and record data in ERP/quality management systems.
* Participate in root cause investigations (5 Whys, Ishikawa) and CAPA follow-up together with production and maintenance teams.
* Verify calibration of measurement equipment and ensure traceability of rolls/batches.
* Support internal/external audits and prepare evidence for customers.
* Provide basic training to operators on acceptance criteria and good handling practices.
* Submit daily/shift reports and coordinate with the Quality Manager/Production Manager.
Requirements:
* Education: Technical degree in Quality, Graphic Industry, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or related field. Technical high school diploma with relevant experience is acceptable.
* Experience: 1–3 years in quality control, preferably in printing/labels/packaging.
* Knowledge: color control, sampling techniques, acceptance criteria for printing (registration, coverage, bleeding), use of measurement instruments.
* Computer Skills: basic proficiency in ERP/quality systems and Excel.
* Competencies: attention to detail, communication, teamwork, problem-solving.
Salary: $8,058.48 - $10,000.00 per month
