We are currently seeking a **SENIOR DATA SPECIALIST (Temporary start; internal payroll consideration based on business performance)** **Purpose of the Role:** The primary objective of this position is to **serve as the technical reference and execution driver** for analyzing advertising campaign, website, and other marketing effort data for our clients. As a Senior Data Specialist, you will orchestrate advanced data solutions—from data modeling and engineering to analysis and visualization—leveraging cutting-edge technology to transform raw data into actionable, high-impact business decisions. **Key Responsibilities** * **Data Orchestration:** Design and implement scalable data pipelines and information architectures that connect clients’ marketing ecosystems. * **Advanced Analytics and Modeling:** Execute attribution models and *Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM)* analyses to optimize clients’ advertising investments. * **Data Engineering (ETL/ELT):** Automate extraction, transformation, and loading of data from multiple sources and APIs into our centralized repositories. * **Business Intelligence:** Translate complex databases into business-oriented visualizations and dashboards, ensuring clients understand the story behind the data with clear hierarchy and semantic order. * **Governance and Quality:** Ensure data cleanliness, integrity, and availability throughout the entire data lifecycle. **Requirements and Hard Skills (Core Technical)** · **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Programming, or related fields. **3–5 years of experience** in a similar role. **1. Data Architecture and Structures (Foundations and Application)** * **Data Modeling:** Ability to build and manage *Star* or *Snowflake* schemas. Deep understanding of data structures to design Data Warehouses and Data Clean Rooms from the ground up. * **Data Lakes:** Practical knowledge and foundational understanding of Data Lake management (Google Cloud Storage, AWS S3, etc.), including partitioning, optimized storage formats (e.g., Parquet, Avro), and data lifecycle management. **2. Databases (OLAP & OLTP)** * **Relational and Non-Relational Engines:** Proficiency in SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and document-oriented NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Firestore). * **Large-Scale Analytics:** Solid experience working with analytical databases **OLAP** (especially Google BigQuery or Snowflake) and understanding of operational differences compared to transactional databases (**OLTP**). * Query optimization, index usage, normalization/denormalization, and cloud query cost management. **3. Programming and Data Engineering (Pipelines & APIs)** * **Python:** Advanced proficiency for developing ETL/ELT processes, data cleaning (Pandas, NumPy), and automation. * **API Integration:** Proven experience in automated data extraction via API connections (REST / gRPC). Mastery of HTTP methods (GET, PUT, POST, DELETE), pagination handling, rate limits, and authentication methods (OAuth 2.0, tokens, etc.). * Handling data interchange formats (JSON, XML) and error management in server calls. **4. Data Visualization and Data Storytelling** * **BI Tools:** Preferred expertise in **Looker** (experience with Power BI is a strong plus). * **Business Orientation:** We seek not only someone who creates charts but also someone with UI/UX knowledge for data. Ability to present results with clear visual hierarchy, semantic order, and deep understanding of client needs (*Data Storytelling*). **5. Analytical Modeling for Marketing** * Experience in cleaning, standardizing, and modeling data specifically designed for ingestion into statistical models such as **MMM (Marketing Mix Modeling / Media Mix Modeling)**. **Bonus Points (Desirable / Nice to Have)** * **MarTech & AdTech Ecosystem:** Understanding how digital marketing platforms operate internally (AdServers, DSPs, Programmatic ecosystem, Meta Ads, Google Ads, GA4, etc.). *This is a key differentiator.* * **Low-Code Automation:** Knowledge of tools such as **n8n** or similar (Make/Zapier) to accelerate data extraction and cleaning automation without full reliance on custom code. * **Machine Learning / AI:** Practical foundations in training neural networks and predictive models (Keras, TensorFlow or PyTorch) focused on solving business problems (e.g., churn prediction, purchase propensity, audience clustering). **Key Soft Skills for the Role** * **Problem-Solving Mindset:** Ability to tackle messy or incomplete data sources and engineer viable technical solutions. * **Technical-to-Business Translation:** Skill in discussing complex data architectures in terms of business impact for non-technical clients and teams. * **Operational Autonomy:** Ability to take a client requirement, define the required architecture, and execute the end-to-end technical solution. * **Teamwork and Mentorship:** Highly collaborative attitude, actively willing to teach peers and share technical knowledge. Capacity to document processes and provide effective mentorship that elevates the team’s technical capability. **What We Offer** * Competitive salary: $40,000–$45,000 total invoice amount; internal position consideration after a period and based on business performance.
