Hospital Kitchen Storekeeper Job Objective To manage, control, and safeguard supplies, food, materials, and inventory in the kitchen warehouse, ensuring timely supply to various food production and service areas while complying with applicable quality, food safety, and hygiene standards in the hospital sector. Education Required: Completed high school education. Preferred: Technical degree in Food and Beverages, Gastronomy, Administration, or related fields. Courses in hygienic food handling and inventory management. Experience Required: Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a kitchen storekeeper, food warehouse staff, or similar role. Experience in hospitals, industrial cafeterias, hotels, or institutional food service operations. Knowledge Inventory control and management. Receiving and storage of perishable and non-perishable food items. FIFO (First In, First Out) system. Hygienic food handling practices. Monitoring and control of refrigeration and freezing temperatures. Cyclic and physical inventory counts. Goods receipt and dispatch. Expiration date tracking. Vendor management and goods receiving. Use of inventory management systems and Microsoft Office software. Food hygiene and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and record goods delivered by suppliers. Verify quantities, quality, packaging, and expiration dates of received items. Ensure proper storage of supplies according to hygiene and food safety standards. Maintain up-to-date physical and electronic inventory records. Timely fulfillment of supply requests from kitchen production areas. Apply FIFO method for appropriate product rotation. Monitor and record refrigeration and freezing chamber temperatures. Identify and report damaged, contaminated, or near-expiration items. Participate in periodic inventories and internal audits. Maintain warehouse order and cleanliness. Ensure timely supply to support daily hospital kitchen operations. Comply with institutional policies and procedures.
