We are currently seeking the following position: **Imports Coordinator** **Position Summary:** Provide operational support for domestic and international procurement of plastic resins, ensuring efficient, competitive, and regulation-compliant supply through end-to-end management of imports and exports across all Mexican borders (air, sea, and land), coordinated with suppliers, logistics agents, and customs authorities. Responsible for preventing logistical inefficiencies that cause demurrage, excessive storage, or operational stoppages. The Purchase-To-Pay (PTP) Coordinator role is critical within the organization, guaranteeing consistent and efficient material supply. **Key Responsibilities:** * Execute strategic procurement of plastic resins (HDPE, LDPE, PP, EVA, among others) from global suppliers, ensuring quality, delivery timelines, and optimal commercial terms. * Coordinate the entire import process (from purchase order placement with the supplier through to final delivery, including customs clearance for imported purchases), managing all required documentation: SDS, certificates of analysis, instruction letters, and technical data sheets. For domestic purchases, coordinate with the supplier to ensure timely and accurate material delivery. * Efficiently manage operational relationships with both local and international suppliers, ensuring smooth process flow and that documentation is received by us prior to material arrival at the border. * Manage relationships with customs brokers, carriers, and logistics operators (freight forwarders), both at origin and destination. * Ensure compliance with tariff and non-tariff regulations, including NOMs, REACH (where applicable), REA, and permits from the Ministry of Economy and SEMARNAT, if required. * Analyze global petrochemical market trends and resin pricing to anticipate cost impacts and propose procurement strategies. * Negotiate payment terms, Incoterms, and multimodal transportation schemes (FCL, LCL, bulk, etc.). * Prevent and mitigate logistical risks that could result in demurrage charges, prolonged port storage, or supply chain delays. * Generate performance reports on suppliers, logistical timelines, and foreign trade-related costs. * Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Quality, and Warehouse departments to ensure raw material availability aligned with demand. **Profile Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. * Minimum 5 years of experience in the chemical or oil industry, specifically in procurement or international trade. * Minimum 5 years of experience in international procurement of petrochemical products or plastic resins. * In-depth knowledge of Mexican customs procedures and trade agreements such as USMCA, EU-Mexico FTA, ALADI, etc. * Technical knowledge of resin types and their industrial applications is desirable. * Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and platforms VUCEM, SIAVI, and CAAAREM. * Advanced English (spoken and written). **Key Competencies:** * Analytical thinking and commercial acumen * Strong negotiation skills with a technical focus * Efficient management of logistics operations and prevention of operational risks * Regulatory compliance and continuous improvement mindset * Collaborative work with a results-oriented approach #LI-DNP #LI-REMOTE
