Job Summary: We are seeking a Procurement Executive (or Senior Buyer) with experience in asphalt and pavement construction to manage procurement, supplier negotiations, and cost control—ensuring quality and continuous progress of construction projects. Advanced negotiation skills and strategic procurement vision The profile of a Procurement Executive (or Senior Buyer) in an asphalt and pavement construction company requires a specialized combination of technical knowledge in construction materials, heavy machinery management, strong negotiation capabilities, and a strategic logistics mindset. This is a critical role to ensure that construction work does not halt due to supply shortages, while optimizing costs and guaranteeing quality. Academic Background and Experience Education: Business Administration or related field. Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in similar roles within the construction sector, preferably in road infrastructure or paving projects. Technical Knowledge: Interpretation of item catalogues In-depth knowledge of construction materials (asphalt, cement, aggregates, emulsions, steel) Knowledge of pavement machinery (pavers, rollers, milling machines) Software: Proficiency in ERP (Alpha) and advanced Excel for comparative analysis Main Responsibilities Procurement of Critical Materials: Procure asphalt, emulsions, aggregates, and stone materials in appropriate quantities and timelines for the project. Supplier Negotiation: Secure optimal pricing, quality, and payment terms, establishing strategic partnerships. Machinery and Services Management: Purchase or lease heavy machinery and contract specialized subcontractors. Cost Control: Analyze quotations to achieve real cost savings without compromising material quality. Logistics and Supply Chain: Coordinate material delivery to the construction site or asphalt plant to prevent work stoppages. Quality Compliance: Ensure all inputs meet technical standards for roads and pavements. Skills and Competencies (Soft Skills) Advanced Negotiation: Ability to close favorable deals in competitive environments. Strategic Vision: Anticipate project needs and market material shortages. Working Under Pressure: Capability to resolve operational issues in real time. Assertive Communication: Effective coordination with site supervisors, warehouse staff, and suppliers. Ethics and Integrity: Transparent handling of resources and suppliers. Differentiators in the Asphalt Sector Experience in purchasing fuels and spare parts for heavy machinery. Procurement management compliant with transportation and safety regulations. Ability to manage procurement across multiple concurrent projects. Availability for interview scheduling is required.
