Description

Position Summary: Driver responsible for the safe delivery of supplies, vehicle inspections, recordkeeping, and warehouse support when not performing deliveries. Key Highlights: 1. Safe delivery of supplies and customer service. 2. Safe vehicle operation and compliance with traffic laws. 3. Warehouse support: order picking, loading/unloading. Responsibilities: * Visually inspects the loaded truck to ensure proper packaging and secures all cargo to prevent damage during transit; closes and secures the trailer doors. * Conducts appropriate pre-trip inspections and accurately records them in the logbook. Reports all equipment defects or issues to the supervisor. * Delivers supplies to customers via a predetermined route to ensure timely receipt of their orders. * Maintains safe driving habits and strictly observes all traffic laws. * Completes assigned pickups promptly and safely. * Responds to customer needs in a courteous and empathetic manner; promptly reports any delivery-related problems or inconsistencies to the supervisor. * Promptly reports all accidents, citations, or other incidents to the warehouse manager or supervisor. * Ensures all paperwork and records submitted to the supervisor are accurate and timely. Returns signed delivery receipts to the warehouse manager and submits undelivered documents to the supervisor. * Promotes and maintains a safe work environment, including immediate reporting of all incidents or near-misses to the supervisor. * Is responsible for organizing the interior of the truck to keep it free of debris and items that could pose a safety hazard during sudden stops. * Promotes and maintains a positive team-oriented work environment. * When not making deliveries, this position also assists the warehouse with various tasks, including order picking, truck loading/unloading, palletizing, and other assigned duties. * Must be trained and certified on all equipment operated. * Equipment used in this position: Tractor/trailer, straight truck or tandem axle truck, forklift, pallet jack, and walkie-rider. Qualifications/Knowledge and Experience: * High school diploma preferred and/or experience in a similar role. * More than 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
