Through Rouxbe's online platform and culinary training program, Marriott associates of all culinary experience levels will have access to hundreds of well-designed, visually engaging lessons they can immediately apply to their jobs. Prepare special meals or substitute items. Regulate oven, broiler, and grill temperatures. Remove food from freezer for thawing in refrigerator. Ensure proper portioning, plating, and garnishing of food. Maintain food records. Monitor quality and quantity of food prepared. Communicate any needed assistance during peak work periods. Inform head chef of excess food items for use in daily specials. Inform Food and Beverage staff of rejected items and special menu offerings. Ensure food product quality. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold dishes. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model. Comply with all safety and company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and obtain certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets. Anticipate guests' service needs and address them. Speak clearly and professionally with others. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Reach overhead and below the knees, including stooping, twisting, turning, and crouching. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors. DESIRABLE SKILLS Education: Diploma from a technical, trade, or vocational school. Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
