Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Robot Programming (FANUC, ABB), PLC, and Advanced English required.**Job Description:** The primary responsibilities of the Controls Engineer include designing, testing, installing, and maintaining large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for manufacturing at our SMF plant within the Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico manufacturing complex. Key responsibilities include: * Designs and recommends control system architecture, products, components, and applications used in manufacturing processes; identifies and resolves system interface and integration issues. * Evaluates new and emerging control and manufacturing technologies, adapting to specifications as appropriate. * Validates control system functionality, including appropriate safety compliance, by designing and/or executing test procedures. * Analyzes and resolves problems using innovative, creative, and industry-leading solutions. * Prepares and/or reviews electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control drawings; collaborates with related engineering teams to evaluate components, materials, and suppliers. * Ensures process integrity and builds data collection capability. Provides information to manufacturing, process, and other engineering disciplines by responding to questions and requests. * Maintains equipment operational readiness through periodic audits; troubleshooting; ordering supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; requesting repairs; and implementing process improvements. * Manages supplier development and delivery. * Demonstrates transformative creativity and innovation in work to benefit customers/end users. * Delivers strategically important projects to completion. * Provides support for control-related issues, maintenance failures, and manufacturing issues. * Support, implementation, and improvements. * Maintain WPO in the workplace and laboratories. Implement and support solutions to prevent recurring quality-related issues. * Control modification of programs for new equipment. Enforce Dauch specifications for machinery construction. * Manage projects according to the project management dashboard as controls. * Develop procedures for backing up programs across all new machines. * Approve new machinery via control checklists. * Participate in projects to improve equipment maintainability. * Participate in run-offs and validation testing for new equipment. * Control laboratory setup procedures for managing the Electronics Lab. * Control costs in the electrical area. * Implement and manage improvement projects. * Ensure maximum standardization of components in equipment. Participate in reducing consumption of electrical parts by proposing improvements. * Generation of Improvements. * Scrap Reduction. Operation with PLCs, CNCs, Allen Bradley Control, FANUC, Mitsubishi, FANUC robots, and ABB robots. * Customer support across various departments. * Activity backup with robots; point recording in programs. * Generation of Backups for Machining Centers. **Required Skills and Education** * AUTOCAD, EPLAN, full Microsoft Office suite. * Programming and operation of FANUC robots, Robot Studio – ABB. * PLC – Allen Bradley, Siemens.
