The Drilling Rig Manager is responsible for coordinating the operational functions of the drilling/maintenance crew, with particular emphasis on drilling operations, toward effective and efficient performance. 8 years in the industry and at least 5 years onboard and working with this type of offshore well drilling, completion, and workover rigs. Two years must be verifiably in the role of engineer or technician. · Demonstrates commitment to the company’s safety policies through frequent safety talks, reviews, consultations, and audits conducted on the rig. · Selects appropriate standards, specifications, and safe work procedures, including drills. · Monitors compliance with standards, specifications, and procedures, and reviews departmental personnel performance. · Ensures personnel receive adequate resources and training to achieve their objectives and enhance job competency. · Conducts monthly safety meetings with all personnel. · Ensures incidents causing injury or damage to personnel, the environment, or equipment are thoroughly investigated using formalized and systematic procedures, and that effective corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence. · Ensures environmental requirements are met. · Immediately reports to line management any violations of safety rules by personnel, even if such violations have not resulted in an incident. · Investigates all incidents jointly with the QHSE Department. · Continuously monitors operations through drilling crew reports. · Assesses overall operational effectiveness and initiates improvements as necessary. · Develops and maintains cordial relationships with operational-level supervisors, customer representatives, and joint venture partners. · Leads operations personnel in maintaining the Company’s standards, policies, and work procedures. · Stays informed of various government rules and regulations affecting platform operations and ensures adherence thereto. · Responsible for reviewing monthly financial reports and explaining variances for operations under his/her authority. · Maintains cost control over platform operations while upholding Company standards. · Ensures preventive maintenance is properly implemented and coordinates repairs or maintenance to minimize downtime in cooperation with the Operations Manager, Operations Superintendent, and Maintenance Superintendent. · Ensures the drilling rig complies with ISO and NOMS standards. · Ensures, together with Operations Management, that all drilling rig certifications are kept current. · Reports operations status and issues encountered to the customer. · Maintains a good relationship with the customer to support continuous improvement. · Ensures contractual terms with the Customer are honored to the best extent possible. · Analyzes rig penalty assessments with Rigs Superintendents to resolve outstanding items for which the Customer penalizes the Company. · Prepares for and attends safety and operations meetings. · Provides positive leadership to the platform crew and serves as a mentor. · Trains and evaluates personnel under his/her supervision (performance evaluations/CAMS). · Ensures all hazards and environmental aspects are adequately assessed and mitigated (MEX\-HSE\-F0893 Hazard and Risk Assessment Matrix). · Maintains contact with the Customer’s on-site representative to efficiently implement the well program in accordance with all applicable QHSE policies and regulations. · Plans and/or oversees all daily platform drilling operations, including but not limited to drilling, equipment testing, repair, well control on the drilling rig, rig move, and installation. · Leads planned and preventive maintenance programs jointly with the Maintenance Supervisor. · Plans crew work assignments. · Evaluates platform supervisors’ performance and provides constructive feedback. · Leads by example in complying with all Nabors safety policies and standards. · Knows and understands Nabors’ integrated QHSE policy, as well as other policies related to the management system, and identifies how those policies apply within his/her area of responsibility. · Responsible for enforcing the driller’s induction. · Leads warehouse and inventory administrative work. · Actively participates in the occupational health program, including the occupational health program and the Company’s annual medical examination plan. · Actively participates in the implementation of integrated management systems per ISO standards. · Any other duties assigned by his/her immediate supervisor related to his/her primary responsibilities. .
