Your role will be key in transforming and maturing operations to the next level, by implementing systems for **fraud prevention and transparency**, applying **agile methodologies** to improve flow and space utilization, and developing a **predictive maintenance plan** that reduces costs and eliminates losses due to lack of traceability. **Who are we looking for?** We are seeking a **Yard Manager** to lead the **Gate In/Gate Out (GIGO)** process, establish order within the yard, and rigorously schedule and supervise **preventive** and **corrective** maintenance of units, while maintaining strict control over spare parts and fuel. We need someone focused on **safety and compliance**, with leadership ability to elevate operations. We also value experience in implementing **digital solutions** (CMMS/YMS/WMS and integration with GPS) that enable sustainable scaling of operations in the medium term. **Offer** * **Salary:** **$50,000 net** (commensurate with experience and results). * **Benefits:** as per legal requirements. * **Contract type:** indefinite-term contract. **Activities and responsibilities** **1° Internal control (reduce losses and theft):** * Dual verification system for **all** repairs, with documented approval. * Mandatory photo evidence of vehicles, parts, and repairs (**before/during/after**). * Physical validation of **installed vs. invoiced** parts (recorded in technical logbook). * **Daily** fuel monitoring with digital records (consumption rates, variations, alerts). * **Weekly** transparency report including evidence and findings. * Spare parts inventory with **minimum/maximum** levels, tracking entries/exits, and reconciliation against invoices. * Vendor management: negotiation, evaluation based on **price/quality/response time**, warranty compliance and safety; building **strong, long-term** relationships. **2° Smart maintenance:** * Diagnostics and minor **in-house corrective** repairs on units. * Direct supervision of third parties for major corrective work; **reduce reliance** on external repairs. * Unit-specific maintenance plan with **predictive/preventive** and corrective schedules, plus compliance tracking. **3° Yard organization:** * Agile methodologies for order and workflow: **5S** for yard layout and **Kanban** for critical spare parts. * Selection of continuous improvement methodologies (**Lean/Kaizen**; **Scrum** for internal projects when applicable). * Performance tracking using **KPIs** and **monthly progress reports** (improvements, bottlenecks, actions taken). **4° Document management:** * **Gate In/Gate Out (GIGO):** entry/exit checklist with photo evidence (**before/during/after**). * **Digital logs per unit** (mechanical, fuel, incidents, spare parts). * **Excel dashboard** with **weekly KPIs** (availability, MTTR, preventive/corrective ratio, costs, gate cycle time). * Spare parts inventory with **strict control** and periodic audits. **Essential requirements** * **Minimum education:** Technical degree in Industrial Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance, or Automotive Mechanical Maintenance. * **Preferred education:** Degree in Industrial Maintenance Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, TSU in Industrial Maintenance. A plus if postgraduate studies include: Master's in Logistics and Supply Chain, Master's in Logistics and Transportation, or Master's in Operations Engineering and Management. * **Operational turnaround experience:** having led stabilization/turnaround initiatives with measurable improvements in time, cost, and control. * **Verifiable certification (at least one)** or experience leading implementation of agile methodologies (**Lean Six Sigma / 5S / Kanban / Kaizen / Scrum**). * **Intermediate/advanced Excel skills:** pivot tables, filters, formulas, and **dashboards**. * **Proximity to site and availability** to commute: **José Mesina Silva, Manzanillo, Colima**. * **Recent, verifiable work references** confirming **integrity in resource management** and **reduction of operational costs** (metrics/results). * **Availability to respond** to emergencies (on-call duties when required). **Professional experience** * **Minimum 5 years total** in operations, with responsibilities in **yard operations** and/or **container terminals**. Experience in **industrial parks** or **temporary work camps** (Conservation) is valued. * **At least 3 years** performing **direct maintenance on tractor-trailers**: preventive and corrective; **electromechanical knowledge**; familiarity with **Kenworth, Freightliner, Volvo** and diesel engines (**Caterpillar, Detroit, Cummins**). * **At least 2 years** leading land logistics and transportation operations (ideally in yards), in similar positions.
