RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of the Welding Engineer relate to process management: resolving operational, functional, quality, and design issues affecting the product, as well as implementing productivity-enhancing improvements to ensure the integrity of our products at our Silao Plant in Guanajuato, Mexico. Key Responsibilities include: Propose and execute actions to maximize process performance with a focus on continuous improvement. Develop process sheets, error-proofing measures, and work instructions. Actively participate in reducing scrap from welding processes. Implement advanced problem-solving techniques to improve scrap, FTQ, OEE, and other KPIs. Reduce welding cycle times. Manage operating instructions, registration of critical contact parts and tooling, development of “Weld Schedules” or parameter matrices, and process sheets. Strong skills and knowledge in developing FMEAs and applying Reverse PFMEA (AIAG 4th Edition and VDA/AIAG). Participate in acquiring new technologies, equipment, and processes to achieve greater efficiency. Knowledge of data acquisition software and statistical analysis tools to support more effective decision-making. Provide manufacturing support, including weekends and/or holidays. Leadership skills enabling consensus-building both within and outside the department. Communication skills enabling effective collaboration with peers across departments.
