***Purpose***
The incumbent is responsible for supporting the achievement of the Financial Group Scotiabank’s objectives related to information security integrity, confidentiality, availability, and continuity, through:
* Monitoring, identifying, controlling, and analyzing technological risk using security tools and support from operational areas, with the objective of maintaining an appropriate security level aligned with institutional standards.
* Developing and implementing processes to detect, identify, analyze, and respond to information security-related incidents.
* Continuously monitoring network activity to detect abnormal patterns for respective analysis.
* Administration and operation of Antivirus Systems, Internet Browsing and Email Filtering Systems, Systog Networks, and TCP/IP Services Polling Console.
* Supporting Support Areas in problem resolution analysis.
* Promoting continuous improvement of security controls and necessary protection measures to prevent unauthorized access to the communications infrastructure due to emerging technologies.
The importance of this role lies in its direct support to business execution of strategies, operations, and services, with its primary function being the continuity and confidentiality of information transmitted across the network. Additionally, it provides investigative techniques to clarify security incidents and identify controls and countermeasures to implement.
*Responsibilities*
* Strong commitment to regulatory compliance:
* Knowledge of information security standards, policies, and regulations; promoting their implementation and monitoring compliance to maintain an appropriate security level.
* Identifying legal and regulatory requirements affecting responsibilities assigned.
* Ensuring timely resolution of non-compliance issues and other deviations.
* Participating in internal and external audits.
2\. Security Operations:
* Administering tools enabling timely threat assessment and detection
* Providing local and international email and internet browsing filtering services, establishing service levels and contingency recovery plans.
* Updating and implementing security tools in accordance with BNS guidelines.
* Considering internationally accepted information security standards.
* Security Incident Investigations:
* Supporting forensic teams by delivering (logs) with preliminary analysis.
* Measurement and Performance:
* Establishing service levels and measurement mechanisms, ensuring their ongoing compliance while accounting for evolving requirements and business continuity needs.
* Periodically reporting to the Deputy Director on responsibilities assigned.
* Regularly reporting key functional indicators (IDS/IPS statistics, incidents, email filtering, web filtering, investigations, trends, emerging threats, etc.)
* Project Participation.
* Leading and/or executing information security projects.
+ Periodically reporting progress and risks of ongoing projects.

Employees of the financial group accessing the internet via Mexico’s gateway.
Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Panama
**Education / Experience / Additional Information**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering or Electronics
* 3 years of experience in information security
* 3 years of experience in networking
* 6 years of experience working in the banking sector.
