Their role is critical to removing rust, old paint, or contaminants prior to applying industrial coatings. Key Responsibilities * **Area preparation:** Covering, taping, or isolating areas and equipment that must not be impacted by the abrasive. * **Material handling:** Supplying sand, grit, or other abrasive materials to the blast pot or sandblasting machine. * **Operational support:** Assisting in moving, positioning, and securing parts, structures, or pipelines to be treated. * **Equipment maintenance:** Performing cleaning, inspections, and basic maintenance on hoses, nozzles, and air compressors. * **Final cleanup:** Removing abrasive residues from treated parts via sweeping, vacuuming, or air blowing, leaving them ready for painting.
