Job Summary: Preventive and corrective maintenance in rooms, finishes, public areas, and hydraulic and electrical installations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Comprehensive room maintenance: plumbing, carpentry, and lighting. 2. Repair and aesthetic restoration of finishes, painting, and masonry. 3. Maintenance of public areas, swimming pools, and critical systems. Rooms (Preventive and Corrective Maintenance) This is the most critical area. The assistant must conduct "vacant room" rounds to inspect: * **Plumbing:** Unclogging sinks and showers, replacing washers in faucets to prevent dripping, and inspecting toilet flush mechanisms. * **Carpentry:** Adjusting door and closet hinges, repairing drawers, and touching up furniture dented by luggage. * **Lighting:** Replacing burnt-out bulbs and verifying that all electrical outlets function properly. 2\. Finishes and Aesthetics (Painting and Masonry) The hotel must look "brand new" every day: * **Resurfacing and Painting:** Repairing chipped walls, moisture stains, or scratches in hallways and rooms. * **Drywall:** Repairing damaged ceilings caused by water leaks (common after air conditioning repairs). * **Sealing:** Applying silicone around bathtubs, showers, and sinks to prevent leaks and mold. 3\. Public and Outdoor Areas * **Swimming Pools:** Vacuuming the pool floor, measuring and applying chemicals (chlorine, pH adjusters), and cleaning filters. * **Outdoor Furniture:** Varnishing and maintaining lounge chairs, umbrellas, and outdoor tables to protect them from sun and humidity. * **Basic Landscaping:** Assisting with irrigation or aesthetic pruning if the hotel does not employ an external specialized service. 4\. Hydraulic and Electrical Installations * **Pumps and Motors:** Inspecting for unusual noises or leaks in the mechanical room and potable water pumping systems. * **Boilers:** Monitoring hot water temperature to ensure proper delivery to all rooms. * **Emergency Generators:** Checking fuel and oil levels in electrical generators.
