Function Purpose: The Data Analyst will focus on supporting the execution plan for reliability, maintainability, producibility and testability activities. Reliability activities include assignments, modeling, predictions, warranty analysis, FMECA, accelerated life testing, HALT, HASS and BIT demonstrations. They will actively participate in detailed product design and improvement activities, technical exchange meetings, program/project reviews, customer/supplier support, and ensure product lifecycle integrity through the application of advanced analytical tools and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities:* Support the development of reliability predictions and analyses using statistical methods (MTBF, Weibull, etc.) and software tools such as ReliaSoft or BlockSim for mechanical and electrical designs and supplied components. * Provide support to analyze field data and warranty reports to identify trends, failure modes and root causes, and participate in implementing corrective actions to reduce failures. * Support design reviews, production readiness reviews, new product development and introduction by providing technical expertise in material selection, thermal management and failure analysis. * Communicate results from data-driven modeling projects, both in terms of development status and findings and ongoing actionable insights. * Guide the development and optimization of reliability models for predictive maintenance and lifecycle assessment. * Act as an internal translator, providing independent verification and rigorous critical review of third-party data analysis, internal data analysis, and other reliability information sources. * Provide support in product failure root cause investigations and formulate recommendations for design improvements. * Support the creation of a repository of lessons learned/knowledge base regarding product failures and root causes, and transfer this information for use in DFMEA/PFMEA. Competencies/Skills:* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mathematics. * Proven experience in data analysis and/or reliability engineering of at least 5 years. * Understanding of reliability analysis techniques and tools (e.g., ReliaSoft, Minitab or similar software). * Experience in accelerated life testing, reliability testing and reliability prediction. * Experience in Design of Experiments (DOE), FMEA, DFMEA and root cause analysis methodologies. * Experience in electrical, mechanical and electromechanical assembly, dielectrics, injection molding and PCBs. * Ability to interpret statistical data, calculate failure rates and reliability metrics. * Experience communicating and presenting technical data and concepts to diverse audiences. * Demonstrated problem-solving, quantitative analysis skills and ability to work with application developers, IT, design engineering and other technical organizations. * Experience with SPC (Control Charts, Pareto Analysis, Histograms, FMEA, etc.). * Conversational English NOTE: At Spellman we offer a relocation package applicable to all candidates once selected who reside in another city.
