**Trico is hiring a Mold Maker for the Matamoros plant.** **Requirements:** * Partial Bachelor's degree * 2 years of experience in plastic injection molding * Experience using AutoCAD * Technical English. **Basic Function and Scope:** Support the Tooling team to determine tool improvements, engineering changes, and mold renewals, and share lessons learned for new molds. Generate POs to budget external mold repairs (including updated 3D mold model) with urgency from submission \-PO\-schedule until the mold is released and approved in . Track new and outsourced injection molds until their PPAP is completed. **Responsibilities:** * Effectively develop, document, implement, and maintain a record of production mold lifespans, and track all molds by monitoring and improving low cavity performance (maintain BOR metric updated daily), aiming to address root causes to prevent recurrence. * Determine when molds need replacement or renewal due to tool life or increased volume, by tracking cycles performed over the mold’s lifespan. * Monitor and maintain an updated master list of molds with key data such as PN, mold ID, designed cavities, name and ID of tool supplier for mold and hot runner (as applicable), mold owner with asset number for OEM customers such as Ford, Nissan, etc. * Conduct thorough evaluation for mold repairs with external suppliers, generating PR/PO to budget external mold repairs (including updated 3D mold model for requested repair) with urgency from mold change or repair submission\-PR\-PO\-schedule until the mold is released and approved in P150 by the quality team. * Support the tool shop in ordering new equipment, installation, and commissioning. * Effectively document and maintain stocked spare parts in MRO to support the tool shop in mold repairs. * Responsibilities are not limited to departmental needs. * Ability to interact with all members of the tool shop, processing, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other teams to resolve quality issues at the root cause.
