Request ID: 24109 Job Category: Manufacturing Career Level: Professional Contract Type: Permanent Location: Zapopan, MX **Job Description – Production Supervisor** ==================================================== **Location:** SKF Zapopan **Department:** Manufacturing / Operations **Reports To:** Production Manager **Purpose of the Position** ------------------------ The Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure achievement of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives. The role supervises operational staff, manages resources, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with SKF standards and the SKF Production System (SPS). **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- ### **1\. Production and Operations Management** * Supervise daily activities to meet production plans and established KPIs. * Ensure proper allocation of personnel, materials, and machinery. * Monitor equipment performance, cycle times, and unplanned downtime. * Verify adherence to work instructions, standards, and process parameters. ### **2\. Leadership and Personnel Management** * Supervise, train, and develop operators and line leaders. * Lead daily meetings (Tier Meetings) to review results and priorities. * Manage personnel incidents, attendance, performance, and discipline. * Foster a respectful, collaborative work environment aligned with SKF values. ### **3\. Safety and Hygiene** * Ensure compliance with EHS policies, internal safety standards, and local regulations. * Conduct safety walkthroughs, risk assessments, and incident investigations. * Guarantee proper use of PPE, machine guarding, and safe work practices. * Maintain the area under 5S standards and operational order. ### **4\. Product Quality** * Verify that products meet SKF and customer specifications. * Manage deviations, rework, and scrap using problem-solving methodologies. * Collaborate with the Quality department on root cause analysis and corrective actions. * Ensure adherence to ISO standards and internal quality systems. ### **5\. Continuous Improvement** * Lead improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and SPS. * Identify opportunities to optimize processes and improve OEE. * Participate in implementing new technologies, tools, or work methods. **Profile Requirements** ------------------------- ### **Education** * Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. ### **Experience** * 3–5 years of experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role in manufacturing. * Experience in automotive, metalworking, machining, or assembly industries (preferred). ### **Technical Knowledge** * Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools. * Knowledge of production planning, KPIs, and OEE. * Ability to interpret drawings, process sheets, and technical specifications. * Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills and ERP experience (SAP preferred). ### **Soft Skills** * Leadership and effective communication. * Analytical mindset and problem-solving orientation. * Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. * Teamwork and results-driven approach. **Working Conditions** -------------------------- * 100% onsite position (SKF Zapopan). * Availability for shift work, on-call duties, or weekends as required by operational needs. **What We Offer** -------------------- * Career development within a global leader in industrial engineering and technology. * Competitive compensation and benefits package. * A safe, collaborative environment focused on innovation and growth.
