Colegio J. Beckmann opens its call for applications to select professionals wishing to join its teaching team as lower elementary school teachers for the 2024\-2025 school year. In Tequila, Jalisco; immediate hiring if requirements are met.
Colegio J. Beckmann is a private school founded in 2022 and operated by Fundación Beckmann (www.fundacionbeckmann.org) in the community of Tequila, Jalisco. The school provides high-quality education to children and families from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. It is part of the SER Schools Network (www.escuelaser.org), inspired by the KIPP school model in the United States. Like KIPP, these schools are driven by a singular mission: to become the engine transforming education in Mexico—through example, commitment to excellence, and the conviction that, if we help children develop the academic and character strengths required to succeed in university and lead fulfilling lives, they will be able to build a better future—for themselves and their communities.
The first school is located in Tequila, Jalisco, a growing community 60 minutes from Guadalajara.
Through this call, the school will select lower elementary teachers for the 2024\-2025 school year who meet the following requirements and competencies:
**Requirements:**
**1\.** Hold at least a bachelor’s degree (degree certificate and professional license). Graduates of official or affiliated Normal Schools in Elementary Education, Pedagogy, Educational Sciences, or Master’s programs in Education.
**2\.** Teaching experience with student groups.

**Responsibilities:**
1\. In the classroom:
· Teach and uphold the school’s culture.
· Ensure high academic rigor.
· Foster and promote healthy interpersonal relationships among students, parents, and other school staff.
· Adhere to class schedule: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
· Follow school routines, ensuring students have all necessary materials for class activities.
· Timely and accurate reporting of student progress.
2\. Implementation of the SER Academic Model:
· Use academic tools designed for classroom instruction.
· Participate in training sessions.
· Monitor each student’s progress toward academic excellence.
· Participate in SER community activities.
3\. Academic outcomes:
· Use exit tickets with students, reviewing and analyzing results to verify progress and identify learning gaps for timely remediation.
· Administer assessments and re-teach as needed.
· Record and report academic results for assigned classes.
· Provide academic and behavioral guidance to parents and guardians.
4\. Professional development:
· Actively participate in 100% of professional development sessions (trainings).
· Implement and follow up on one-on-one feedback received from the school leader or SER team.
· Attend summer training sessions.
5\. Extra-curricular activities:
· Actively participate in cultural and social activities promoted by the school.
**Other requirements:**
a) Availability to work full-time at the school in Tequila, Jalisco, from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.
b) Availability for continuous training over several consecutive weeks at the start of teaching duties.
**Employment Terms**
· Immediate hiring, including classroom-based training.
· For candidates with proven teaching experience, degree, and professional license: base gross monthly salary of $20,000 pesos (2025\-2026 school year; subject to inflation adjustment starting with the next school year), plus benefits.
· For recent graduates without experience: training program with negotiable salary.
**Selection Process**
STAGE 1 ▪ Review of applicants’ CVs and cover letters.
STAGE 2 ▪ Interviews with the school team and the SER Network.
STAGE 3 ▪ Finalists will be invited for an in-person interview in Tequila, Jalisco, and asked to present an action plan, deliver a sample lesson, and perform a role-play.
The exact date and location remain to be confirmed, as this final stage will be coordinated with the school’s academic team and the SER Network.
The Selection Committee will appoint the new elementary school teacher(s) in Tequila.
