Summary: The Assembler is responsible for maintaining production of Surgical Table products to meet customer requirements through precise assembly and quality standards. Highlights: 1. At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe. **Position Summary** -------------------- The Assembler is responsible for maintaining production of Surgical Table products to meet customer requirements. **Duties** ---------- * Ability to assemble based on knowledge of the functions of major component parts and sub\-assemblies within an assigned area. * Use and understand torque wrenches and test equipment and trouble shoot. * Maintain published productivity standards on moderately challenging assemblies by utilizing a traveler, blueprint and standard work. * Maintain high quality standards (meet the departments published quality rating). * Maintain safe work areas and practice safe work habits. * Apply 5S tools to include the T\-card system. **Duties \- cont'd** -------------------- **Education Degree** -------------------- **Required Experience** ----------------------- * Computer Skills to include Microsoft Office, and Shop Floor Control * Knowledge, understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing tools, such as, 5S, Kanban Inventory. * Ability to read blueprints, knowledge of schematics * Experience using torque wrenches and test equipment and related troubleshooting. * Ability to make decisions and stay quality focused * Ability to understand and follow work instructions, both written and oral. * Ability to adapt to conditions as dictated by business requirements. * Proven teamwork experience. * Ability to work overtime, if required. * Knowledge, understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing tools, such as, 5S, Kanban Inventory. **Preferred Experience** ------------------------ * Prior AS400 experience preferred * Experience with hydraulics and electrical component assemblies desired. **Skills** ---------- STERIS is a leading global provider of products and services that support patient care with an emphasis on infection prevention.
