Position Summary: We are seeking an expert in preparing tortillas and quesadillas to ensure food quality and consistency while maintaining hygiene and speed in the kitchen. Key Highlights: 1. Experience in making tortillas and quesadillas. 2. Handling of dough and cooking to ensure quality and flavor. 3. Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and under pressure. Schedule: Monday to Sunday, 12:00–8:00 pm. Day off on Wednesdays. Experience in tortilla and quesadilla preparation (including troubleshooting) and food preparation with consistent quality, flavor, and presentation, ensuring hygiene, speed, and order in the kitchen to deliver an excellent customer experience. Main Functions and Responsibilities * **Dough Preparation:** Responsible for kneading dough to ensure required consistency and quality, whether for manual or machine production. * **Tortilla Making and Cooking:** Operate the tortilla press or prepare tortillas by hand, controlling griddle or equipment temperature and timing to achieve perfect doneness (neither raw nor burnt). * **Quality Control:** Visually, olfactorily, and taste-inspect final products to ensure consistent flavor, texture, and presentation meeting establishment standards. * **Station Management:** Maintain workstation and equipment (tortilla press, griddle, utensils) clean, sanitized, and organized, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations. * **Inventory and Supplies:** Monitor ingredient inventory (corn, flour, etc.), manage supplier orders, and report equipment maintenance needs. * **General Kitchen Support:** Assist with other kitchen tasks or food preparation as needed, following instructions from the chef or general supervisor. Required Profile * **Experience:** Minimum one year of experience preparing tortillas or in similar kitchen roles. * **Knowledge:** Proficiency in dough preparation and tortilla cooking techniques, either manually or using industrial machinery. * **Skills:** Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and under pressure while maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality. * **Legal Requirements:** Possession of basic documentation required to work in food service, such as a food handler’s certificate (per local regulations).
