**General Objective:** Supervise and ensure the organization and operation of the laboratory in accordance with established legislation, as well as adherence to and compliance with the internal laboratory regulations within hospital units **Job Responsibilities:** The Laboratory Manager is responsible for: * Ensuring an appropriate number of personnel with the required education, competencies, and training are available to meet staffing needs. * Ensuring a safe working environment in compliance with national laws and regulations. * Ensuring an appropriate number of personnel with the required education, competencies, and training are available to meet staffing needs. * Coordinating laboratory operations in accordance with current regulations. * Coordinating clinical laboratory technical and operational staff. * Ensuring proper functioning of sample reception, collection, preservation, transportation, and processing. * Verifying, confirming, and signing laboratory reports, or overseeing that the appropriate person signs them in accordance with applicable legal provisions. * Addressing service-related complaints and resolving them. * Participating in hospital committees when necessary. * Supporting internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance. * Ensuring procedures, manuals, forms, and logs are updated in accordance with regulatory requirements. * Ensuring laboratory tests meet quality criteria based on the Quality Management System (QMS). * Performing non-conformance procedures (PNO) to support continuous laboratory improvement, validated by the Corporate Laboratory Manager. * Providing clinical consultation regarding test selection, use of services, and interpretation of test results. * If applicable, selecting other subcontracted laboratories and monitoring the quality of services provided through a supervision process aligned with organizational criteria. * If applicable, when selecting a reference laboratory service, conducting an assessment of its background and technical capacity, and requesting a copy of the license issued by a recognized authority, as well as a copy of the accreditation certificate or letter, or certification from a recognized laboratory accreditation or certification program. * Monitoring turnaround times for laboratory service requests to identify potential areas for improvement. * Identifying training needs of subordinates, ensuring they receive necessary training for proper job performance and supporting their continuous professional development. Verifying proper handling of biological samples. o Requesting and supervising biomedical equipment operation. o Managing preventive, corrective maintenance, and calibration of measurement instruments. o Training and supervising compliance with safety and hygiene regulations. o Supervising implementation of internal quality control and evaluating results, as well as establishing corrective actions. o Ensuring participation in an external quality control program. o Promoting and providing training for newly hired and existing staff according to needs. o Developing, implementing, and evaluating internal procedures. o Managing commercial relationships with reference laboratories and subcontracted services. o Preparing purchase requisitions, tracking orders, and maintaining administrative control thereof. o Maintaining adequate inventory of supplies to meet operational demand. o Ensuring subordinates comply with internal regulations. o Keeping regulatory documents up-to-date for optimal laboratory operation. o Proposing, implementing, and supervising new laboratory tests or analytical platforms to improve patient care and management. o Technical failures in infrastructure, instruments, or auxiliary equipment: Coordinating repairs with maintenance, biomedical engineering, and external vendors **Education:** Bachelor’s Degree / Pharmacist-Biologist, Clinical Chemist, or Parasitological Biologist **Experience:** Minimum 3 years to 2 years Professional experience as a health officer in a clinical laboratory and experience in clinical analysis. **Work Schedule:** **Travel Required:** **We Offer:** **Hospital:** **MAC Aguascalientes Nte** CONTACT **Email:** paulina.rendon@hospitalesmac.com **Phone:**
