**Job Objective** The Barista is responsible for the preparation and service of coffee-based beverages, tea, and other menu items, ensuring quality, presentation, and taste according to the café's standards. Their primary role is to provide friendly, personalized, and efficient customer service, creating a positive experience and fostering customer loyalty to the establishment. **Main Duties and Responsibilities** The Barista must prepare all types of hot and cold beverages such as espresso, cappuccino, latte, frappé, teas, and other specialties, following established recipes and procedures. They will also assist in preparing light food items such as desserts or sandwiches, maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation. They are responsible for taking orders, processing payments through the point-of-sale system, handling cash, and performing cash register reconciliations at the end of their shift. Additionally, they must keep their work area, equipment, and utensils clean and organized, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations. The position requires constant communication with customers, offering menu recommendations, answering questions, and addressing special requests courteously and with a service-oriented attitude. The Barista must also collaborate with the rest of the team to ensure an efficient workflow, assist during peak hours, restock supplies, and report any maintenance needs or product shortages to the supervisor. **Position Profile** A minimum education level of completed secondary or high school is required. Courses or certifications in barista skills, customer service, or food handling are valued. At least six months of experience in cafés, restaurants, or similar businesses is required, with knowledge of espresso coffee preparation, use of professional machines, steam wands, grinders, and basic latte art techniques. Key skills include customer orientation, positive attitude, effective communication, speed, accuracy, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm during high-demand periods. **Working Conditions** The job takes place in a dynamic environment with constant public interaction. The Barista works standing for extended periods, on rotating shifts that may include weekends and holidays. They must wear clean uniforms, adhere to personal appearance and hygiene guidelines, and follow company policies. **Performance Indicators** The Barista's performance will be evaluated based on customer satisfaction, adherence to quality and presentation standards, accuracy in payments and cash register reconciliations, punctuality, attendance, and compliance with cleanliness, safety, and hygiene rules.
