Apply for our opening as: Field Operator OBJECTIVE The primary function of the Field Operator is to operate the Refined Products Terminal facilities in accordance with technical, safety, and environmental procedures and standards, aligned with the Company’s business plan. RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform loading and unloading operations of petroleum products using systems such as loading/unloading arms and others at the Petroleum Products Terminal, including inspection, startup, shutdown, and taking equipment out of service for maintenance during their shift; * Monitor and control operational variables of equipment, open and/or close valves according to established operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain assigned operations within performance standards; * Know and perform tasks associated with different operational modes of terminal facilities; * Carry out pressurization, depressurization, inventorying, and de-inventorying of pipelines and equipment; * Execute additive injection processes, oxygenate blending with gasoline, and diesel blending during product loading, maintaining control over product quality; * Adjust operational variables (temperature, pressure, vacuum, level, flow, and/or product transfer) to keep processes at required levels or correct issues; * Take samples to verify product quality, conduct control tests, record results, and note any problems; * Implement the Car Seal philosophy on manual valves at the terminal according to the established annual plan; * Perform assigned operations and record operational variable measurements for product loading and unloading equipment. Report equipment or valve malfunctions and unusual trends or conditions in the operational logbook and to the supervisor; * Use data loggers to collect real-time process information from various terminal equipment and processes and report the data; * Carry out all work in accordance with applicable safety procedures, using appropriate safety devices and equipment; * Participate in the development of operational procedures and work instructions; * Identify potential environmental risk scenarios arising from their activities and assess the likelihood of each scenario to prevent environmental damage; * Operate heavy machinery to conduct maneuvers in the rail yard; * Follow requirements of the Integrated Management System (IMS); * Attend scheduled and required training for improved job performance; * Participate in Emergency Response Team activities and support the Emergency Response Team Leader. REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Completed Technical Degree and/or High School Diploma. EXPERIENCE: * Minimum of two (2) years of experience in process plant operations, refineries, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; * Experience operating rotating, stationary, and utility equipment in the petroleum refining, petrochemical, and/or hydrocarbon storage terminal industries; * Experience in hydrocarbon storage terminal operations, hydrocarbon process plant operations, or petrochemical plants; * Experience operating heavy machinery; * Training in similar positions and/or performing duties equivalent to those required for the Field Operator role. **Apply now** and become part of the great **Sempra Infrastructure** team!
