**Job Description:** The Nursing Assistant at the Clinic will play a crucial role in patient care and assistance under the direct supervision of nursing staff and ophthalmologists. This role involves performing essential support tasks to ensure efficiency and quality in ophthalmic care. Main Responsibilities: Assistance in Ophthalmological Procedures: * Prepare and assist in ophthalmological procedures under the direction of the ophthalmologist. * Ensure proper sterilization and availability of instruments and supplies for procedures. Preoperative and Postoperative Care: * Provide support in preoperative preparation and postoperative care of patients. * Monitor vital signs and provide relevant information to the medical team. Medication Administration: * Administer medications according to instructions and under the supervision of nursing or medical staff. * Record and track medication administration. Management of Specific Equipment: * Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment such as tonometers, autorefractors, and slit lamps. * Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs. Patient Education and Support: * Provide information and basic education to patients regarding procedures, postoperative care, and medications. * Offer emotional support to patients during their stay at the clinic. Record Keeping and Documentation: * Maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical and administrative data. * Assist in preparing reports and documentation required for the patient's medical record. Preferred Qualifications: * Nursing Assistant diploma or equivalent. · Practical skills in managing surgical instruments and equipment · Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the surgical team and patients. * Previous experience in healthcare settings, preferably in ophthalmology. * Basic knowledge of ophthalmological procedures and specialized equipment. * Effective communication skills and empathy with patients. * Ability to work in a team and follow medical protocols.
