**Hydromechanical Engineer** **Job Objective** Develop hydromechanical engineering for Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs), with emphasis on pump and equipment selection, hydraulic system design and calculation, and technical supervision during installation and commissioning. The objective is to ensure that hydraulic and mechanical systems operate efficiently, reliably, and in accordance with design specifications and applicable regulations. **Key Responsibilities** **A. Hydromechanical Engineering and Calculations** * Prepare hydraulic calculation reports for discharge, suction, and return lines. * Perform sizing and selection of pumps, valves, pipes, and fittings, considering efficiency, head losses, and operating conditions. * Develop hydromechanical drawings and diagrams (P\&ID, isometrics, and layouts). * Prepare technical specifications and equipment data sheets. * Validate calculations per applicable standards and codes (NOM, NMX, API, AWWA, ISO). * Calculate discharge, suction, effluent, and pressure control systems. * Simulate and validate hydraulic behavior using specialized software (Piping Flow, EPANET, WaterCAD, Civil 3D, among others). * Coordinate hydraulic designs with Process, Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical departments to ensure proper system integration. * Prepare calculation reports, technical reports, material and equipment specifications, and hydraulic design manuals. * Ensure compliance with applicable national and international standards (NOM, NMX, CONAGUA, ASME, AWWA, ISO). **B. Equipment Installation and Commissioning** * Provide on-site assistance during installation and assembly of hydraulic and mechanical equipment. * Supervise correct alignment, leveling, and connection of pumps, blowers, and process piping. * Actively participate in commissioning tests, calibration, and start-up of equipment. * Identify and correct design or operational deviations during testing. * Prepare commissioning reports and technical verification reports on equipment performance. **C. Technical Coordination and Control** * Collaborate with Process, Electrical, and Instrumentation departments to ensure proper system integration. * Support Procurement and Logistics in the technical review of equipment and quotations. * Provide technical support to Construction and Maintenance teams during project execution. * Prepare operation and maintenance manuals and checklists for hydromechanical systems.
